ADAM SHOALTS
Adam Shoalts is a professional adventurer and Westaway Explorer-in-Residence at the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. His expeditions range from mapping rivers to archaeological projects, but Shoalts is best known for his long solo wilderness journeys, including crossing alone nearly 4,000 km of Canada’s Arctic. Named one of the “greatest living explorers” by CBC, Shoalts’s latest quest was retracing the route of a lost explorer, the subject of his new book Vanished Beyond the Map. His other books include Where the Falcon Flies, The Whisper on the Night Wind, A History of Canada in 10 Maps, and Beyond the Trees: A Journey Alone Across Canada's Arctic, all of them national bestsellers.

JILL HEINERTH
Jill Heinerth, Explorer-in-Residence at The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, is a pioneering underwater explorer and documentarian whose career has redefined the boundaries of underwater exploration and scientific discovery. Jill has consistently displayed an unwavering commitment to understanding the hidden depths of our planet.
She is a fellow of numerous international organizations including the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame, Underwater Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Explorers Club, which further honored her with the distinguished William Beebe Award for ocean exploration.
Jill will be speaking and screening her documentary, “Diving into the Darkness”

KEN MCGOOGAN
Ken McGoogan is an award-winning author, globetrotting adventurer, journalist, and songwriter. Ken will be sharing why he devoted six books and twenty-five years to tracking northern explorers.
He is the author of seventeen books, among them six bestselling histories about Arctic exploration. His numerous awards include the Pierre Berton Award for History, the University of British Columbia Medal for Biography, and an American Christopher Award for “a work of artistic excellence that affirms the highest values of the human spirit.”In 2025 he has been awarded the prestigious Explorers Club Stephanson Medal, recognizing outstanding contributions to the cause of exploration and field sciences in Canada and internationally.

THE GORGE CINEMA
The Gorge Cinema is one of the oldest continuously operated repertory cinemas in Ontario and has been a fixture in the Elora entertainment scene since 1974. Recently completely restored, the cinema seats 105, and has a patio and licensed bar.
ELORA CENTRE FOR THE ARTS
The Elora Centre for the Arts is a not-for-profit charity located in a restored, three-story limestone schoolhouse in the heart of the Elora, steps from downtown and across from the Grand River and Bissell Park.
ST. JOHN’S ANGLICAN CHURCH
This historic venue is celebrating its 150th anniversary and will provide a stunning backdrop for this year’s festival.
Designed in the Gothic Revival style by architect Henry Langley, this beautiful red brick building has been home to the world-renowned Elora Festival Singers for 25 years.
